First Week in New Home

The first week in our new home happened luckily during the children’s summer holiday so they were able to help in the organisation of  everything in the house.  The first room to be finished was my eldest son’s as he wanted to contact his friends via the Xbox.

The second was the lounge so that we could sit in comfort (it still has boxes but will explain in another post). I had wonderful friends who gave furniture as I was unable to take most from the house with only one van journey.  One delivered  bed bases for my boys, kitchen table and chairs, coffee table, folding chair and from her brother’s partner’s old house a freezer and fridge.  The other not only helped moved stuff on the moving day but gave me two very comfortable fire side chairs.

My parents were fabulous and helped buy the other items we needed.  They were also fabulous with their help and still are. The third room was the kitchen and it is wonderful to sit and look out the window to watch the birds come to feed.  The bathroom did not need much organising, but I have brought things to organise the toiletries and decorate it.

My room came next then my youngest son’s, although if you saw these rooms at the moment you would think we have just moved in!

Nobody thought I would go through with leaving my husband, but by the end of the first week, with the change in the boys I knew all the trauma was worth it.
